Guitar Quest!

For my birthday I put it out there that all I wanted was a guitar, so after gathering all my birthday money up today is the day when I get to go and pick one out. Fred Girard has graciously agreed to help me look at some used guitars and get a good one.

Why guitar? Well one lack I have is that the only thing I can really do is sing. While singing is perfectly fine for a big church where there are always other gifted musicians, out in the mission field it may not be enough. So I have decided that the most practical and portable form of accompaniment for me is the guitar. It will give me a whole new way to worship and I am praying that I will be coordinated enough to sing and play at the same time.

It seems that suddenly my whole life has changed direction. Instead of trying to pay off bills to go save up for our dream house, now all we want to do is pay off our debt so we will be free to go off and serve wherever God calls us. We have our doubts, and our fears, but most of the time we feel that God has been gently leading us along right up to the point where he showed us what he has planned. Things that were chores are now suddenly easy and issues that were important are not even discussed anymore!

Life is the same but it feels very different. We have realized that we need to keep the momentum going, and keep moving on in our process. It woudl be so easy at this point to get discouraged or to quit, but with God tugging so much at our hearts quitting is really not an option. Please keep praying for us and encouraging us with your wonderful words!
