The Journey Begins

We met with Beth Harris yesterday to find out more about becoming career missionaries. It was a wonderful and though provking meeting and she gave us a lot of homework to do! It was a nice Birthday present to be given a chance to start on the path that will change and shape our future and our children's future.

Our first step is to contact and evolve a prayer support group for our future as missionaries. We need people to pray for God's will in our lives and to lift up our desires to align them with his desires. We need prayer that we are being called to do this and it is not just a "honeymoon" feeling from our two Katrina relief trips. Then once we get into the process we will need our prayer supposrt group more than ever!

I personally have felt a resurgence of the desire I had as a college student to be able to join the peace corps and go make a difference, only now I am so glad that I did not! I want to be in God's outreach corps - spreading His love and word to people anywhere an everywhere.

We have not decided on a country yet though Brad is saying Africa keeps popping up in his mind! I begin to feel more fear and apprehension as I research partering groups and I realize I need that prayer support group ASAP! Satan wants me to think that we are not qualified and to come up with 100 reasons why we can't do this. All of those feelings are squashed by the peace that prayer can give us by making us even more certain that God WANTS us to do this! 1 John 4:4

My biggest doubts center around myself and my humanity, and yet I have to believe that if God wants us to do this he will equip us and he will provide. Philippians 4:13 Matthew 16:15 All we can offer him is who and what we are, he can use anyone, so therefore he can use me with all my faults, selfcenteredness, rebellion and all. We will be growing and learnign through this process, all the whikle leaning on God and his strength and will.

Please pray for us that everything we do will be in God's will and that it is His desire that we go into full time outreach work, and not our own! We have such a desire to please Him and to love people and tell them why we love them!
